Feed Your Hair

Posted on Updated on

You are what you eat! You here it all the time on television, magazines, ect. But have you ever considered how what you eat can not only affect your body but also your hair. Whether your goal is to have long hair or just healthy hair putting the right things in your body play a factor into achieving your hair goal. Nutrients help fortify the hair follicle when you eat a balanced, varied, protein-rich diet. Foods rich in iron, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, biotin ect. are foods that promote healthy hair.

Here is a list of a few foods that contain these nutrients:

Salmon

Sweet Potatoes

Eggs

Spinach

Greek Yogurt ( now I see why ppl put this in their hair)

Blueberries/strawberries

Carrots

There are many other foods that have the nutrients mentioned above in them if this list of foods does not appease to you. Make sure you know what you are putting in your body.

Leave in Conditioner

I’ve been using this product for about 6 years now. I use it mostly on wash day and those days when I fall asleep on my cotton pillow case ( I should’ve definitely invested in a satin pillowcase by now) without a bonnet on. I have a natural curly hair pattern and learned that my hair works best with water base products thanks Dedra! This product is water based, light and makes my hair managible. I always follow up with an oil carrot or olive. I do try other leave in conditioners but I always end up back to this one.

2014 will be my last year of growing my hair out. It all started back in 2011 when I first cut my hair off into a pixie cut…. I was able to donate my hair to locks of love and I loved the idea. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. I told my self that I wanted to donate my hair again. My motto ” it’s just hair it will grow back” I am so excited to be able to donate my hair a second time to someone in need! My hair goal for 2014 is to just keep growing….. Wish me luck guys
